I, Aqeel Khan, journalist and founder and national president of the International Human Rights Journalists Association (IHRJA), am continuously engaged in the field of social service, human rights protection, and impartial journalism. Established and duly registered in 2023, this organization’s primary objective is to protect the rights of journalists, social activists, and ordinary citizens, to support them in accessing justice, and to bring about positive change in society.
The International Human Rights Journalists Association is an organization that places human rights protection, social justice, and impartial and fearless journalism as its fundamental principles. The organization believes that every citizen has the constitutional right to live a life of dignity, freedom of expression, and access to justice. To promote these values, the organization continuously works in various states across the country through its officials, journalists, and volunteers.
The organization especially stands firmly with journalists who face any form of harassment, pressure, intimidation, or injustice while performing their duties. In such cases, the organization strives to provide all possible support at the legal, social, and administrative levels, ensuring the dignity and independence of the fourth pillar of democracy is maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, the organization actively addresses corruption, exploitation, injustice, women’s oppression, child rights violations, social evils, and other important issues related to public interest. Through various awareness campaigns, public hearings, social programs, relief work, human rights awareness camps, and public welfare campaigns, the organization continuously strives to bring about positive change in society.
In many states across the country, including Uttarakhand, the organization’s officials and workers actively contribute to social service activities by living among the public. Even during natural disasters, epidemics, social crises, and other emergencies, the organization has always prioritized service to humanity. Assisting those in need, bringing public issues to the attention of the administration, and striving for their resolution are crucial components of the organization’s work.
Our aim is not only to highlight problems, but also to take positive initiatives to resolve them by coordinating with society, the administration, the media, and related organizations. The organization believes that an aware society, independent journalism, and respect for human rights are the hallmarks of a strong and developed nation.
The International Human Rights Journalist Association will continue to work with complete devotion and honesty towards its principles, values, and social responsibilities in the future.
